Aberdeen is a convenient connection point for two major trans-continental highways. US Highway 12, also known as "The Yellowstone Trail" runs from Plymouth Rock, MA to Puget Sound, WA. US Highway 281 runs from the International Peace Garden in Canada to the International Bridges across the Rio Grande River, joining Texas and Mexico.
The first municipal airport in South Dakota was established in 1921 on 100 acres of land north of Aberdeen. Today, it has evolved into the Aberdeen regional airport with the ability to get you to and from Minneapolis by jet in about an hour.
Aberdeen also offers an array of charter services, taxi companies, car rentals, and public transportation through Rideline.
